First New Haven Preview: A Success

Every new show proceeds over time to be editted, honed and shaped on the page.

At a certain point it goes into rehearsal where all the pieces take on lives of their own, they are assembled, connected, through music, image, lighting and movement to create a flow that the audience can engage with and follow.

This is what the first preview was about. The story has power, they laughed, they were touched, they wanted to know what was next, (this was part 1) and most of all they were surprised by the quality of the presentation. It was sharp, effective and polished with edges of improv and spontanaeity which engaged the audience. The multi media and lighting appeared to function seamlessly, thanks to the genius of my brother Jamie Burnett. Yes, it needs further work, shaping tweaking and editing. Over the next few weeks I’ll be reviewing the video with my amazing director/collaborator Jim Ennis, and we will be presenting it somewhere else for the next iteration.

We’ll keep you updated here and on the Jeff Burnett on Broadway facebook site.

The journey continues.
